Abu Dhabi's off-plan property market continued to play a leading role in residential real estate activity during the first half of 2026, according to the latest market report from ADREC.

Residential property sales reached AED 70.4 billion during the six-month period, with off-plan transactions accounting for 89% of total residential sales value and 82% of transactions.

The figures highlight significant buyer interest in newly launched developments, particularly within established investment destinations and emerging master-planned communities.

Al Hudayriyat Island recorded AED 19 billion in residential sales value, followed by Saadiyat Island with AED 13.3 billion. Al Reem Island and Al Maryah Island collectively recorded AED 10.5 billion, while Yas Island accounted for AED 7.3 billion.

The report also revealed that expatriate residents and non-resident foreign buyers collectively represented 70% of residential sales value, demonstrating the importance of international participation in Abu Dhabi's property sector.

For investors, the continued growth of the off-plan market presents opportunities to explore new developments, flexible payment structures and emerging residential destinations.

However, buyers should carefully evaluate developer credentials, project delivery schedules, location fundamentals and long-term investment objectives before making a purchase.
