ADGM Strengthens Abu Dhabi’s Position as a Global Financial Hub
Strong growth in assets, businesses and global investment continues to reinforce Abu Dhabi’s position at the centre of international capital.

Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) recorded significant growth during the first half of 2026, reflecting the continued expansion of Abu Dhabi’s financial ecosystem and its growing appeal to international institutions, investors and businesses. Assets under management increased by 54% year-on-year, while the number of active licences approached 14,000.
The asset management sector was a major contributor to this growth. ADGM reached 190 fund and asset managers, up 23% compared with H1 2025, while the number of funds managed from the financial centre increased by 32% to 276. Firms establishing operations during the first half of the year collectively oversee more than US$2.1 trillion in global assets.
International financial institutions also continued to expand their presence in Abu Dhabi. The number of financial services entities operating within ADGM rose 27% to 392, with major global firms establishing, launching or expanding operations during the period.
Growth is also being reflected in Abu Dhabi’s professional community. The combined workforce across Al Maryah Island and Al Reem Island reached 49,027 professionals, representing a 34% year-on-year increase and adding 4,688 professionals during the first half of 2026 alone.
Technology and artificial intelligence remain another important part of ADGM’s expansion. More than US$100 billion in AI-focused investment is now held by entities established within the financial centre, while ADGM plans to invest more than AED 400 million through 2029 to strengthen its digital infrastructure and regulatory capabilities.
The continued expansion of capital, businesses and talent highlights Abu Dhabi’s growing international influence. Supported by the emirate’s long-term economic strategy, ADGM continues to strengthen its role as a globally connected financial centre and support Abu Dhabi’s broader economic diversification ambitions.
