Abu Dhabi Launches ‘My Home is Safe’ Initiative to Enhance Residential Safety
Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority and Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre introduce a new initiative to strengthen home safety awareness and emergency preparedness across residential communities.

The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA), in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC), has launched the My Home is Safe initiative to promote residential safety, prevent household accidents and improve emergency preparedness among families across the emirate.
Announced on 16 October 2026, the initiative coincides with the handover of new homes to Emirati beneficiaries of the Al Mizn Neighbourhood and Al Samha Housing Project in Abu Dhabi. It aims to establish essential safety practices from the moment residents move into their properties.
The programme provides practical training and guidance for parents, children and domestic workers, covering fire prevention, first aid, emergency response and household safety. Participants will learn how to respond to kitchen and electrical fires, operate fire extinguishers and smoke detectors, prepare evacuation plans and minimise risks to children within the home.
Training sessions will be delivered at residential handover centres, combining theoretical instruction with practical exercises. Participants will receive accredited completion certificates and first aid kits, while homes will also be equipped with fire extinguishers to support immediate emergency preparedness.
The initiative reflects Abu Dhabi's wider commitment to developing safer and more sustainable residential communities. By integrating safety education into the housing handover process, the programme seeks to protect residents and properties while strengthening awareness and preparedness across the emirate.
Through continued collaboration between ADCDA and ADREC, My Home is Safe supports Abu Dhabi's vision of enhancing residential wellbeing, community safety and quality of life for Emirati families.
