Abu Dhabi Real Estate Transactions Reach AED 155 Billion in First Eight Months of 2026

Abu Dhabi’s real estate sector recorded AED 155 billion ($42 billion) in property transactions during the first eight months of 2026, exceeding the total transaction value registered in 2025. The performance highlights the emirate’s growing appeal as a real estate investment destination, supported by sustained demand and increasing participation from international buyers.

Market activity remained strong throughout the year, with the first quarter recording approximately AED 62.4 billion ($17 billion) in transactions. The second quarter generated around AED 47.7 billion ($13 billion), while approximately AED 44 billion ($12 billion) was reported for the third-quarter period covered by the figures. Despite fluctuations between periods, transaction volumes continued to reflect substantial market activity.

International investment has played a significant role in the market’s expansion. Foreign buyers accounted for 70% of residential unit sales value during the first half of 2026, while non-resident investors from 116 nationalities participated in the market, compared with 82 nationalities during the same period in 2025. This growing international presence reflects Abu Dhabi’s expanding global investment appeal and increasingly diverse buyer base.

According to the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC), residential unit sales reached AED 70.4 billion during the first half of 2026, reflecting a market that continues to broaden and mature. Participation across Emirati buyers, resident expatriates, and international investors further demonstrates the depth of demand within the emirate’s property sector.

The sustained performance also highlights the resilience of Abu Dhabi’s real estate market amid regional economic uncertainty. Rather than relying on a single period of exceptional activity, the market has maintained significant transaction values across successive months, suggesting continued investor engagement and confidence.

Market Outlook

Abu Dhabi’s real estate market enters the final quarter of 2026 with strong momentum, supported by international investment, a diversified buyer base, and sustained residential demand. With transaction values already exceeding the previous year’s total, the emirate continues to strengthen its position as a leading real estate investment destination in the region.
