Al Reem Island Leads Abu Dhabi Off-Plan Apartment Sales with 49% Market Share
Al Reem Island accounted for nearly half of Abu Dhabi’s off-plan apartment transactions in summer 2026, as sales activity and property prices continued to rise across the capital.

Al Reem Island has emerged as one of the strongest-performing areas in Abu Dhabi’s residential property market, accounting for 49% of all off-plan apartment transactions recorded across the emirate during summer 2026.
According to market analysis by real estate developer MERED, 1,291 of Abu Dhabi’s 2,658 off-plan apartment transactions during the period were recorded on Al Reem Island.
Al Reem Island Off-Plan Sales More Than Quadruple
Approximately 139,000 sqm of off-plan apartments were sold on Al Reem Island during summer 2026, more than four times the 34,000 sqm recorded during the same period in 2024.
Across Abu Dhabi, approximately 308,000 sqm of off-plan apartments were sold during summer 2026 — around 2.4 times the level recorded two years earlier. Al Reem Island alone represented approximately 45% of the total area sold.
Abu Dhabi Off-Plan Apartment Prices Rise 28%
The increase in transaction activity has been accompanied by significant price growth.
According to MERED's analysis, the average transacted price of off-plan apartments across Abu Dhabi increased by 28% between summer 2024 and summer 2026, reaching approximately $7,070 per sqm.
The figures reflect the broader strength of Abu Dhabi’s off-plan property market. Data from the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC) showed that during the first half of 2026, off-plan transactions represented 82% of residential deals and 89% of residential sales value across the emirate.
Al Reem Island’s Growing Investment Appeal
Al Reem Island continues to develop as a major residential and business destination, combining modern residential communities with schools, restaurants, retail destinations, waterfront spaces and recreational facilities.
Its position has been further strengthened by its inclusion within the jurisdiction of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) alongside Al Maryah Island. The integration has expanded the island’s role within Abu Dhabi’s wider financial and business ecosystem.

The island continues to attract new residential projects as developers respond to growing demand and increasingly selective buyers.
With expanding infrastructure, waterfront communities, proximity to central Abu Dhabi and a growing pipeline of new developments, Al Reem Island is strengthening its position as one of the capital’s key destinations for off-plan property investment and residential living.
