Eagle Hills Moves Forward with Major New Developments in Syria
Abu Dhabi-based Eagle Hills has signed a framework agreement to advance major residential and tourism developments in Damascus and Latakia as part of a wider investment programme that could reach $20 billion.
Eagle Hills is moving forward with major new real estate developments in Syria following the signing of a framework agreement covering urban, residential and tourism projects in Damascus and Latakia.
The agreement was signed during an investment event in Damascus attended by Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Eagle Hills founder Mohamed Alabbar, marking a significant step towards implementing large-scale private-sector developments in the country.
Two projects are expected to move directly into implementation: Tadamon Towers in Damascus and Eco Life in Latakia. Both developments are planned as integrated communities combining residential properties with tourism facilities, services and public spaces.
The projects form part of a broader development initiative led by Alabbar that could ultimately involve investments of up to $20 billion, representing one of the most significant UAE-backed private-sector investment programmes in Syria’s real estate and tourism sectors.
The Damascus development is expected to contribute to the capital’s urban transformation through a large-scale mixed-use community, while the Latakia project will focus on creating a new integrated destination along Syria’s Mediterranean coast.
The agreement also reflects growing economic and investment ties between the UAE and Syria, with real estate, tourism and urban development emerging as key areas for potential investment.
Eagle Hills, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, has developed major master-planned communities, waterfront destinations and mixed-use projects across several international markets. The company’s expansion into Syria would add another market to its growing regional development portfolio.
